When you want to protect your child's sensitive skin from the harmful effects of the sun, sunscreen is essential. This is because a child's skin is a lot more sensitive than that of an adult.

Sunscreen babies: extra protection for little ones
Always regularly apply a generous layer of cream (at least SPF 30) to your baby's skin. This is because their skin is much thinner and more sensitive than that of older children and adults. Always grease a baby in sunny weather, even if the baby is mainly in the shade. Choose an SPF specifically designed for sensitive baby skin; it contains no harmful ingredients. We recommend keeping babies out of the sun as much as possible for the first year.
How often should you apply sunscreen to your child?
Apply sunscreen regularly to properly protect your child's skin from the sun. Apply sunscreen to your child at least half an hour before you go outside. Then repeat this every two hours, or more often if the child sweats a lot or plays in the water. Important: also remember to reapply SPF after drying off.
What factor sunscreen for your child?
The right factor for your child depends on his or her skin type. For children, always use at least factor 30. Does your baby or child have fair skin? Then it is recommended to use a higher factor, such as SPF 50. Tip: choose a cream with both UVA and UVB protection.
How long does sunscreen last?
After your sunscreen is opened, it still has a shelf life of about 12 months. After this period, purchase a new bottle. This is because the protective effect of a cream diminishes over time. To preserve the quality for as long as possible, it is best to store the SPF in a cool, dry place.
The best sunscreen for your child
You can choose from hundreds of different sunscreens, but for your child, be sure to choose one that is specially designed for children. This is because these products contain no harmful substances and are mild for children's skin. For example, go for Naif sunscreen.
