Origins of Dermalogica
In 1983, Jane Wurwand and her husband Raymond founded the International Dermal Institute (IDI). This school was open to qualified beauticians who wanted to expand their knowledge. To this day, the IDI is regarded as the training institute for facial and body treatments. There are already more than 40 branches worldwide. Jane Wurwand could not find a product line that matched her vision and training. So she started developing her own products and in 1986 Dermalogica was born. Her vision was clear: products that improve skin and make it healthy, without irritants and ingredients that can clog the skin. The products are developed in California, where the world's strongest environmental and consumer protection is ensured.
High-quality ingredients
Dermalogica never uses drying ingredients, as this is not good for the skin. Dehydrating ingredients include: soap, denatured alcohol, mineral oils and artificial fragrances and colours. Dermalogica uses Saponaria (natural soapwort), Hamamelis (witch hazel), Iron Oxides, essential oils and Botanicals, these help in getting healthy skin.
Sustainable product packaging
Dermalogica's products are always in a tube or pump system. This ensures that the active ingredients in the product remain potent and no bacteria get into it. These packages are recyclable or biodegradable. The products are also packaged in FSC-certified eco-friendly cardboard and paper.
